Students can respond at https://sakai.rutgers.edu/portal/site/sirs. Individual survey dates may vary; dates for specific courses can be looked up on the Current Surveys page.
April 2014 Archives
The Student Instructional Rating Surveys will begin on at 12:01 A.M. Saturday morning, April 19, 2014 for most courses. Students have until May 7th to complete the survey.
Students can complete their surveys using in the "Survey Dashboard" in Sakai
https://sakai.rutgers.edu/portal/site/sirs
Faculty do have the ability to request other dates for their surveys, so individual courses may have surveys that run earlier or later than the above dates. A small number of courses still use paper surveys which will be distributed in class, and some courses use eCollege instead of Sakai to host the survey. To see exactly when and where a survey will be for a particular course, please use our Current Surveys page.
To the extent that CTAAR web sites are independent of other Rutgers services, CTAAR web sites are not affected by the "heartbleed bug". Using your NetID to log into SIRS Results web site or any other page on the CTAAR web site would not have exposed you to this security risk.
However, Rutgers operates a large number of interconnected web sites, and OIT is still assessing what other Rutgers sites may have been vulnerable to heartbleed. Please refer to the OIT information about heartbleed, and keep in mind that the information will be updated periodically. You may need to change your NetID password depending on what web sites you have used at Rutgers over the past two years (the good news is that the most common "central services" are safe).
The "heartbleed bug" is a serious issue that caused many web sites to potentially reveal personal information or passwords. No one is certain about whether any information was stolen because of this bug, but many sites that were affected are recommending that you change your password. For more information, the Mashable.com web site has a good list of popular web sites and whether or not they were affected.
All faculty and instructors who will have an online survey in Sakai should have received an email with the details of their surveys. Any requests for changes to the survey are due to us by April 13.
Unless otherwise requested, the surveys will start on April 19 and students may respond until May 7.
If you are teaching a course and have not received an email from us, please check our Current Surveys web page and contact us to request that we add an unlisted survey, or correct your contact information if your survey is already listed.
Please note that if you are teaching a course in eCollege, the survey may be run in that system and administered by the Division of Continuing Education. Please contact Bernadette Power at DoCS for information or changes to eCollege surveys.
