Recognizing the Impact of Unconscious Bias in the Classroom

In this lively workshop session, hosted by CTAAR, we will consider implicit bias issues in teaching and how instructors can create a welcoming classroom environment.

Dr. Moore-Bembry is a teaching instructor and the Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Camden Campus Coordinator for the Rutgers School of Social Work. She earned her doctorate of education from Rowan University and has a BSW and MSW from Monmouth University. She is a Licensed Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. She has a wide range of experience in the field of Social Work, including working with the Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted (MICA), the developmentally disabled, and Child Welfare. Dr. Moore-Bembry's research interests are cultural humility and cultural awareness of social work educators and students.
