Fall 2020 Student Instructional Rating Surveys

The Fall 2020 Student Instructional Rating Survey (SIRS) process is underway. While there is some variation in dates for individual courses or programs, please keep in mind the following dates:

  • November 18 through November 29: SIRS early access for faculty and instructors. No action is required, but instructors may add additional questions during this period, or adjust the survey dates.
  • November 30 (unless changed by the instructor): SIRS opens for student submission .
    • All students can us the direct link - https://sirs.ctaar.rutgers.edu/blue - to complete their surveys, regardless of course platform.
    • Students will receive an email notification and two reminders.
    • Courses that are listed in Canvas or Blackboard will additionally show "pop-up reminders" in those systems.
    • Instructors using Sakai can optionally add the "Student Instructional Rating" tool to their site.
  • December 15 (unless changed by the instructor): Due date for students to complete SIRS.
  • Beginning January 6, 2021: CTAAR distributes SIRS results to instructors and departments (additional delay for Rutgers Business School and Rutgers Law School).  

Instructors should use the "Response Rate" dashboard link in the Blue survey system to confirm the exact dates of the surveys for their courses, or to verify that their own date changes have taken affect.
