Rutgers Zoom, Getting Started
The Zoom videoconferencing system is available through a Rutgers site license, as of July 2020. To fully utilize all the features of your Zoom account, it necessary to properly log in to the Zoom desktop app. Please follow the directions below to set up the Zoom software on your computer system.

- Begin by “activating” your Rutgers Zoom account by following the activation instructions.
- Activation only needs to be done once. If you cannot remember if you have done this, the Service Activation page will explicitly state whether “[You already have this account]” or not (the checkboxes may remain unchecked, this is normal).
- Your Rutgers Zoom login generally becomes active within minutes, but may take as long as an hour. If the following directions do not work, please try again later, or contact the OIT Help Desk for assistance.
- Open the Zoom app on your computer. If you do not have the Zoom app in your Start menu or Applications folder, you can download the Zoom app here.
- If you are not already logged into a Zoom account, click the "Sign In" button:
(If you do not see a sign in button, you may already be signed in to another Zoom account. If needed, use the instructions to “switch accounts” in step 7 below)
- Click the "Sign in with SSO" button:
- Type "Rutgers" and then click "continue".
- Log in to CAS with your NetID, then (if asked) allow CAS to open the Zoom app
- OPTIONAL! If you have more than one Zoom account and need to switch between different Zoom accounts, click your profile picture, then click "Switch Account":
