SIRS Information for Instructors
SIRS Instructor Information
Faculty can proceed to sirs.rutgers.edu/blue to access the survey system. The sections below provide important information and resources for faculty to customize and manage their SIRS process. If you have any questions, please email otear@rutgers.edu.

Adding Questions and Changing Dates
Faculty have the option to add custom questions and adjust the dates of their SIRS to better fit their courses. Some restrictions apply to prevent conflicts with grading and survey report distribution. If you need to extend the survey beyond the current limits, contact OTEAR for assistance.

Monitoring Progress and Response Rates
After the survey begins, instructors and administrators can monitor real-time response rates in the Blue system. While individual student responses remain anonymous, viewing the overall progress can help guide reminders or in-class completion efforts.

Accessing Instructor Reports
Faculty can access their SIRS reports through sirs.rutgers.edu/blue, and will receive an email notifying them once new reports are available. Reports from Summer 2019 onward are available in Blue, while older results may be found in your email or requested from OTEAR (summary statistics only).

Midcourse Survey Tools
Whether you’re gathering general feedback from students or supplementing SIRS with custom questions, there are several survey tools available to support your needs. Instructors and department administrators also have the option to run midcourse surveys centrally through the Blue system.

Rutgers Cooperative Extension

SIRS Grid for Promotion and Tenure
Faculty and administrators are now able to create and download their own SIRS teaching grids for their promotion, reappointment, or tenure documents. We offer general guidelines that are applicable for all forms, but please refer to the instructions within your specific form for more detailed information.
